Wego was the first of its generation of travel aggregators in South East Asia. Together with booking.com in Europe, kayak in the US, Wego was for ahead of it’s time. The main challenge was to deliver a multi region, multi language app that would query every airline possible for a single flight query and return the results in multiple different languages. This included double byte characters like Thai and Mandarin. The most difficult one though was Arabic, as the whole app inverted when selecting this option. Having flight icons on the right and prices on the left. This was one of the reasons that it was not only the no 1 travel app in the Indonesian App Store, but also in the Arab App Store at launch.
